Suffice it to say I love living on Sherkin Island. Not to be too dramatic but it’s a dream come true. The journey started 10 or so years ago when I saw a program on Nationwide RTE and was hooked. Art holidays with Cora Collins and Majella O Neill for starters, and then the DIT Visual Art Degree Program for 4 years followed by a permanent move from Dublin and the rest is history.
Walking on the island is an inspiration and taking photos of whatever catches my eye and observing the colours inspires me to crochet with lots of lovely yarn shades and yarn textures and create with beautiful colours. Not bad as they say in Cork.
